Day 1: Chiang Mai - Doi Mae Salong - Chiang Rai (approx. 240 km)

From your hotel in Chiang Mai, drive to the Chiang Dao Caves. Then you drive through beautiful countryside to Thaton. Here you can enjoy the beautiful view over the valley of the Kok river. After lunch, drive through the Doi Mae Salong Mountains and visit the Akha and Yao hill tribes. You will stay 1 night in Chiang Rai in a nice centrally located hotel.

Day 2: Chiang Rai – Golden Triangle – Chiang Mai (about 280 km)

After breakfast you will visit the Golden Triangle and the House of Opium. You will take a boat trip on the Mekong River and then drive to Mae Sai on the border with Myanmar (Burma) to visit the Indo-China market. After lunch, visit Wat Rong Khun (the 'Snow Temple') and Mae Kachan hot springs. Back in Chiang Mai you will be transferred to the hotel of your choice
