Discovery Tour 2

Day 1: Bangkok - Damnoen Saduak - River Kwai (about 280 km)

You will be picked up from your hotel in Bangkok and drive to Damnoen Saduak from where you will arrive by longtail boat at the colorful largest floating market in Thailand. In the place Kanchanaburi you will visit the Honorary Cemetery. After lunch at the Bridge over the River Kwai, take an unforgettable train ride on the famous railway. In the afternoon you drive to the River Kwai where you stay 1 night in a beautiful resort located on the river.

Day 2: River Kwai - Ayutthaya (approx. 230 km)

In the morning you will visit the Erawan waterfalls. Amid the greenery of Erawan National Park, the stunning waterfall plunges into shady pools where you can swim in the crystal clear waters. The park also offers the opportunity to climb up the waterfalls via a beautiful, but steep path. After lunch you will visit the JEATH War Museum and drive to Ayutthaya where you will stay 1 night in a centrally located hotel.

Day 3: Ayutthaya - Lopburi - Sukhothai (approx. 290 km)

You will visit the main ruin complexes of the world-famous Ayutthaya Historical Park, including Wat Phra Si Samphet, which also houses a gigantic Buddha statue. In Lopburi, visit the Prang Sam Yod Khmer Temple, which symbolizes the Trinity in Hinduism. After lunch you will drive along the many vast rice fields to the beautiful and quiet resort, located on the edge of the World Heritage Site of Sukhothai, where you will stay for 2 nights.

Day 4: Sukhothai

You will visit the UNESCO-listed Sukhothai Historical Park. Here you will take a beautiful and relaxed bike ride along the many ruins and monuments, immense Buddha statues and serene lotus ponds. Sukhothai is considered the cradle of Thai civilization. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 5: Sukhothai – Tak - Lampang (approx. 180 km)

You drive to Tak and visit the Bhumipol Dam, the largest dam in the country with a beautiful view of the reservoir. After lunch in Lampang you will take a horse and carriage ride through the center of the city and see the Lanna culture. You will stay 1 night in a beautifully situated lodge on the river.

Day 6: Lampang - Chiang Mai (approx. 100 km)

You will meet the ambassador of the country, the Thai elephant. You will visit an elephant hospital in Lampang. Then drive through the forested mountain landscape, stopping at the Mae Ta jungle market along the way, to Chiang Mai. After lunch you will visit the Doi Suthep mountain temple at 1,054m. From the viewpoint you have a beautiful view of the city and the valley. You will stay 1 night in Chiang Mai in a centrally located hotel.

Day 7: Chiang Mai

This tour ends after breakfast at your hotel. You can choose to extend this tour with one of our many extension options.
