The quiet town of Mae Sariang is located on the Yuam River in a wooded and mountainous region near the border with Myanmar and is still relatively unknown to tourists. The town has historical ties to nearby Myanmar, as evidenced by its architecture and the presence of many Burmese people. The Karen people are the largest ethnic minority in this area. Mae Sariang and its surroundings bear witness to unparalleled beauty. Ob Luang and Doi Inthanon are among the most popular national parks in the country.

Day 1: Chiang Mai – Ob Luang National Park - Mae Sariang (approx. 190 km)
You will visit the Ob Luang National Park. This park is home to the spectacular Ob Luang Canyon, a ravine through which the Mae Chaem River makes its way. You can also take a walk on the nature trail along prehistoric rock and cave paintings. After lunch, make a stop at the Theppanom hot springs, with a geyser and hot water basin. You will stay 2 nights in a nice resort
Day 2 Mae Sariang - Mae Sam Laeb - Mae Sariang (approx. 90 km)
After breakfast you will visit the morning market and the unique Chom Thong Temple from where you have a beautiful view of the river valley, the town and the mountain landscape. Then drive on winding mountain roads to Mae Sam Laeb on the border with Myanmar. You will take a boat trip on the Salawin River, which separates Myanmar and Thailand. During the tour you will visit the ethnic Karen village of Ban Tha Ta Fang and a local school.
Day 3 Mae Sariang – Doi Inthanon National Park - Chiang Mai (approx. 190 km)
You drive to the Doi Inthanon National Park. Named after the highest point in Thailand at 2,565 meters above sea level, the park is home to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country. At 4 km from the top you will visit the beautifully situated Royal Twin Pagodas. At the top you will take a walk on the Angka trail. After lunch, you will visit a royal project designed to encourage the hill tribes to grow other crops to replace opium cultivation and the Vachiratarn and Mae Klang waterfalls. Then you will return to Chiang Mai.
